October Fun!

It was a busy and fun fall!  Here are some photos from October, in no particular order :)
^^ Hadley likes to play catch.  She was sick for about a week in October with a cold and this was the first day she started to act more herself.  It's always so sad when babies get sick!
^^She LOVES bath time.  She can be in the room farthest from the bathroom and as soon as she hears the water turn on, she is booking it to the tub.  We have to keep the door closed the rest of the day, otherwise she tries to climb in the dry tub to play.

                                                                 ^^Beautiful Napa^^
A good friend of mine had 2 gift certificates to a day spa and invited me to go.  They were going to expire in a few days and there was no way I was going to allow them to go to waste!  I got a free massage in this totally awesome spa that is inside a cave, underneath a vineyard.  Yeah, it was amazing! I didn't realize I was a fan of massages but I am :)
We celebrated Tim's birthday with his favorite Apple Cake with caramel sauce.  It is absolutely delicious!  I love my sweet husband and am so grateful for him.  We had a fun day celebrating and had yummy Fenton's for dinner. It was extra special because both sets of our parents were there.  Loved it and love them all!  Hadley is smart and quickly figured out that after we sing Happy Birthday, you get cake.  She's a fan.
^^Tim and I spent a Saturday morning at the Sacramento temple.  Such a beautiful, peaceful place.  I am so grateful for the gospel, the temple, and my family!  Tim's parents were in town for birthday weekend so they watched Hadley for us.  It was wonderful!^^
^^That hat. That girl.  I love her!!  This was her first trip to the pumpkin patch.  She loved cuddling that pumpkin.
.
^^Family photo-op with the pumpkins.  We lasted about 10 minutes before it started raining.  We didn't mind one bit because we need rain so bad this year.
^^2nd to the bathtub, Tim's office is a cool place to hangout in Hadley's eyes. She doesn't usually get the chair to herself but she loves that mouse.  Slamming her hands on the keyboard is pretty fun too.
^^We had a family birthday party for our sweet girl on her first birthday!  It was such a great day.  Hadley was a little cranky when it was time for cake and was actually crying when we put her in the high chair.  As soon as we started singing to her, that frown turned into the biggest smile ever!  I think she knew cake was coming :) Plus she is a social girl and I think she loved that we were singing to her.  Please note the hand holding the cake so no one takes it away.  I'm not sure why she has a spoon, clearly it was not needed!
^^On Monday, the day after her birthday, we took Tim's parents to Point Bonita Lighthouse.  It is one of our favorite spots to take visitors to.  It was a gorgeous clear day so we grabbed Sol Food (yum!) and had a picnic at the Marin Headlands before we took the short hike to the lighthouse.
^^Oops, her eyes are closed.  I love this view of the Golden Gate.
^^So, this lovely purple, velvet dress is one that I actually made in college in a clothing construction class.  I came across it while cleaning out my closet and had to try it on her.  It's a good thing I did because although the dress is a size 3 and is super long, the sleeves are tight and barely fit her here.  She stilled enjoyed playing dress-up!
Hadley was the cutest witch for Halloween.  My mom made the tutu (thanks mom!) and we embellished the little hat.  We went to the trunk-or-treat for my parents ward one night then they came over for our ward's trunk-or-treat on Halloween day.  It was a fun Halloween and we enjoyed our traditional meatball soup and cheesy bread plus lots of candy!  I think Fall is going to be Hadley's favorite between all of these parties, candy, cake, and dressing up. She loved it.

I love me a side-by-side comparison.  These photos were taken one year apart on Halloween.  Isn't it amazing to see how much she has changed?!  This year has flown by ridiculously fast.  A friend from our ward brought that cute outfit by on Halloween morning when she was 5 days old last year.  Then Hadley's cousin Addisyn handed down the exact same outfit in the perfect size for this year.
^^Mummy oreos! Super rich but super good!^^

These photos were all taken at our ward trunk-or-treat.  My parents came and took Hadley trick or treating around the whole parking lot while Tim and I handed out candy at our car.  Hadley absolutely loved it and it was so cute to watch.  By the time she was done, she had a wrapped Snicker bar in each hand, completely melted inside.  Even though she couldn't eat it, she new it was the good stuff and refused to let go of them!

^^ A first birthday sadly means lots of shots at your 12-month appointment. :( Poor Hadley had a tough time but handled it well.  We came home to relax and cuddle afterwards.  When I looked down and noticed how we both crossed our legs, I had to get a picture!

That's a wrap for our busy October!

  2. I love that you dressed in her in the dress you made! I still have all the baby clothes I made in that class too. And, I think you need to share your recipe for meatball soup. Sounds delicious!
