Lists

I love making lists.  I am very good at making lists and forgetting to look at them again.  I usually make the list in an effort to organize my thoughts and get things in order.  I love when I remember to check the list and can cross items off.  It makes me feel productive. Sometimes it is a grocery list, a to-do list, or even a list of goals for the day, week, or month.  Have you ever added items to a list, that were not originally on the list, just so you could cross them off!?  I love to do this and probably do it too much!  So maybe I did not "put the laundry away" but I did finish sewing my skirt and although it was not on the original list, I will add it just so I can cross it off.  I love the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a list even if it means adding more to the list, just to cross it off!

Do I sound crazy?  Does anyone else do this?  Maybe I could use this technique to save money.  I wonder how much I could save each trip to Target if I were to write down each extra item I put in my basket before I buy it.  I always end up walking out of that store having bought so much more then I went for!  Oh well, now I am rambling.  At least I can add "update blog with random post about lists" to my to-dos for today.

Then I will cross it off the list! :)

  1. Hi, my name is Shaine, and I am a list-maker. I enjoy crossing things off and feeling like I'm getting something done.

    You're not alone!

  2. I think that thing you said about Target is true... they say if you go into a store with a list, you're much more likely to stick to it and not spend as much! ;)

I went to a women's conference for my stake a week or two ago, and one of the talks was on happiness. The speaker said that it is proven that list making helps you feel happier. I think it has something to do with feeling that sense of accomplishment. So keep on making those lists!! :)

    Miss you!!
