Chocolate and cheese are two very outstanding items on their own. I love me some chocolate anytime of day and cheese pretty much makes any food better. I know a couple of you who will agree with those statements right off the bat. ;) A couple years ago, my friend Lisa and I tried our hand at a Paula Deen chocolate fudge recipe. The secret ingredient, per Paula's request, was Velveeta cheese. Looking back now, I realize how brave we were to even try that combo but we were intrigued and we like fudge (Lisa makes AMAZING fudge and it has
no Velveeta in it!). I think the idea was that the creamy, smooth Velveeta makes for creamy, smooth fudge. Then there is the flavor. Velveeta cheese does nothing for chocolate. From that point on I figured it was best to enjoy chocolate and cheese far apart from one another. Then I came across this picture on
How Sweet Eats:
Yes, that is a chocolate cheddar grilled cheese sandwich made with:
Trader Joe's Chocolate Cheddar Cheese!
Crazy, huh?
I have never tasted the cheese, let alone purchased any myself. I was more taken aback by the fact that it even exists and I just had to share because I know others may be intrigued by it too! I've heard it is best enjoyed in grilled cheese form. In my search for photos I came across a couple cool sites that actually review Trader Joe's products. I like
this one the best but my photos came from
here. Not the best reviews on the cheese but I think it is just a novelty item anyway.
I think I will stick to eating chocolate & cheese not chocolately cheese.
